Ingredients Needed For Chia Pudding
- Yogurt: It offers many essential nutrients, including protein.
- Strawberries: They are rich in antioxidants, strengthen the immune system, and reduce inflammation. I use fresh strawberries, but you can also use frozen strawberries.
- Vanilla extract: Adds flavor. This is optional, but I like adding it for flavor.
- Dark chocolate chips: It contains flavanols and polyphenols, which are compounds with antioxidant properties.
- Chia seeds: Chia seeds are a great source of fiber and offer anti-inflammatory benefits.
- Almond Milk: You can use any make you like, whether dairy or dairy-free. I prefer to use almond milk.
How To Make Chia Pudding
Add water to a pot and bring it to a boil. Then, add the chia seeds to a heat-proof bowl. Pour the hot water over the chia seeds. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and stir.
Combine the yogurt, vanilla extract, and almond milk with the chia seeds. Dice the strawberries and add them to the bowl with the chocolate chips. Let the mixture chill and thicken in the fridge for about 5 minutes, then serve. You can store this in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Chia Pudding Tips
You will need to use chia seeds and not other kinds of seeds. There are two kinds of chia seeds, white and black, and you can use any of them for this recipe.
If the chia pudding is too thick, add more water or milk. If it is not dense enough, add more chia seeds. For extra creaminess, you can also use full-fat yogurt and milk. I prefer my chia pudding thick, but some prefer a thinner version. Feel free to add more milk for a thinner version.
Add any topping of your choice. You can add toppings like nuts, dried fruits, or fresh fruits.
If you don’t like the texture of chia seeds, you can blend the mixture and top it with strawberries and chocolate chips. This is another excellent method if you don’t like the texture of chia pudding.
How To Store Chia Pudding
It is easy to store chia pudding. After mixing the chia seeds, milk, vanilla extract, and yogurt, transfer the mixture to a mason jar and store it in the fridge. When it is time to eat, add your toppings and enjoy. You can also add the topping to the jar if you want.
